Alright, let me get something straight from the start: I love coffee. If you ask my missus, she’d tell you that if I could vape a cup of freshly brewed espresso, I probably would. And, well, she wouldn’t be far off. See, I’ve been on a quest for years now to find the perfect coffee e-liquid, and I can tell you, it’s been one hell of a ride.
I’ve been vaping for about six years—started out just to get off the cigs, but it’s turned into something else entirely. These days, I’m using the Vaporesso Luxe 2 pod system, and I’ve found a pretty solid setup. But when it comes to e-liquids, I’m still on the lookout for *the one.* I’ve tried dozens, if not hundreds, of flavours over the years. I’ve had the good, the bad, and the ones that made me want to pour my vape juice straight down the drain. And when it comes to coffee e-liquids, it seems like I’m forever chasing that perfect cup that just never quite delivers.
My first real flirtation with coffee flavours came with this one called coffee or cappuccino. I wish I could remember the brand, but that was back in my early days when I wasn’t keeping tabs on names. It wasn’t bad—had a decent, roasted taste to it, and there was a sweetness there, too. But it just didn’t have that kick, you know? It was like ordering a latte and getting instant coffee. So, I moved on.
Next up was a caramel latte by a popular brand in the USA. I thought, “Alright, I like caramel, I like latte; this could be it.” And for a while, it was alright. The sweetness was there, which was nice, but the coffee part? Not as strong as I wanted. I’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth, but I need that coffee to slap me awake in the morning, even if it’s just in vapour form. It’s like, I want that coffee bitterness to remind me I’m alive, you know what I mean?
And then there was an expensive coffee tobacco one i bought online. This one was actually recommended by some bloke online who swore by it. I figured I’d give it a go, seeing as he seemed as mad about coffee flavours as I am. Well, a lesson learned: don’t take recommendations from strangers online. This one had a hint of coffee, sure, but it was also laced with tobacco. Maybe it’s just me, but coffee and tobacco together taste like I’m drinking a cold cup of stale brew in a smoky pub. Not my cup of… well, coffee. I got through maybe half the bottle before I decided I wasn’t going to torture myself any longer.
Now, I’ve finally stumbled on something that’s ticking most of the boxes for me. I’ve been trying out a coffee cake flavour. It’s got a solid coffee base, with a bit of sweetness and that cakey undertone that I actually find pretty comforting. It’s like vaping a slice of coffee cake, which is exactly what I’d hoped for all along. It’s not quite the black, bold coffee hit I’ve been after, but I’ll take it.
The funny thing is, I’ve realised that maybe there isn’t a perfect coffee e-liquid out there for me. Or maybe I’m just too picky. Either way, I’ll keep searching. But I’ll tell you what, if there’s anyone out there reading this who’s got a decent coffee recommendation—nothing too fancy, just a middle-of-the-road, solid coffee flavour—I’m all ears. Drop me a suggestion, and you might just make my day. Maybe even my year.
Until then, I’ll be here, chasing clouds and my next great coffee vape.
