Helping You Through the New Vape Duty Changes

You may have already seen our recent update explaining that new UK vape duty rules are coming in from 1 October 2026.

We know this has caused a lot of worry for customers, especially those who rely on their regular e-liquid flavours, strengths and bottle sizes.

Many of you have asked the same question:

โ€œWill I still be able to get my usual e-liquid at the normal price after 1 October?โ€

The good news is that we have now put a temporary transition plan in place to help.

What is changing from 1 October 2026?

From 1 October 2026, the UK Government is introducing the new Vaping Products Duty and Vaping Duty Stamps system.

This is a UK-wide change. It is not something introduced by The Vape Shop, and it does not only affect our store. It affects vape shops, suppliers and manufacturers across the country.

Under the new system, newly manufactured or newly supplied vaping products will move into the new duty system. This means prices will eventually have to change across the market.

However, there is a transition period for stock that has already been made or held before the new duty begins.

Our temporary solution

To help our customers through this change, we are preparing a controlled batch of selected pre-duty stock before 1 October 2026.

This means we are making and holding a limited amount of popular e-liquid before the new duty starts.

This stock can then be sold during the transition period from:

1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027

This should allow us to keep many favourite products available at pre-duty prices for longer, while stocks last.

Why we are doing this

We know that price increases are frustrating.

A lot of our customers have been with us for years. Many of you have your regular flavours, strengths, and bottle sizes. We do not want the new duty rules to cause a sudden shock that changes everything overnight.

So instead of simply waiting for 1 October and moving straight to the new pricing on everything, we have taken time to plan ahead.

Our aim is simple:

to help customers keep access to many of their favourite e-liquids at normal prices for as long as possible during the transition period.

Will every flavour be available?

We will do our best, but we cannot guarantee every flavour, strength or bottle size.

Because this is a temporary stock plan, we will focus first on:

  • our most popular flavours
  • regular customer favourites
  • common nicotine strengths
  • the bottle sizes customers buy most often

Once a particular pre-duty product sells out, we may only be able to offer the new duty-paid version.

That is why we are asking customers to speak to us before October if they have a regular flavour or strength they depend on.

What happens after 31 March 2027?

The transition period ends on 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2027, the new duty-stamped system fully applies across the UK.

At that point, old pre-duty stock can no longer be treated in the same way, and prices across the industry are expected to reflect the new duty system.

So the important point is this:

Pre-duty stock is a temporary bridge, not a permanent way around the new rules.

Are the new rules still happening?

Yes. The new UK vape duty rules are still coming.

Our earlier leaflet was not wrong. The rules still begin from 1 October 2026.

What has changed is that we have now created a transition plan to help reduce the impact for customers while the permitted sell-through period is in place.

So rather than customers facing the full price change straight away on every product, we aim to keep selected pre-duty stock available for as long as possible during the transition period.

What customers should do now

If you have a regular e-liquid, please speak to us in store.

Let us know:

  • your favourite flavour
  • your usual nicotine strength
  • your usual bottle size
  • how often you normally buy

This will help us understand what customers need most and plan our pre-duty stock as sensibly as possible.

We cannot promise unlimited availability, but we will do our best to help regular customers through the change.

Our promise to customers

The Vape Shop has worked hard to prepare properly for the new rules.

We have completed the HMRC approval process and will continue to operate responsibly and in compliance.

At the same time, we understand that customers are worried about prices. That is why we are doing what we can, within the rules, to make the transition easier.

We will continue supplying quality e-liquids, supporting our customers, and keeping you updated as we get closer to October.
