Geekvape Aegis 100W Review

The Geekvape Aegis box mod is a pretty impressive piece of kit for a price that anyone can afford. Able to fire up to 100 W, this waterproof and dustproof device is even shockproof to military standards! With its hand-friendly ergonomic design and attractive leather and aluminium body, this stylish vaporizer can withstand some serious punishment and is bound to impress.

Let’s take a closer look at its features and see what the Geekvape Aegis has to offer.

Design

If you’re looking for a small, user-friendly device, the Geekvape Aegis fits the bill with its comfortable hand-feel and neat size.

This neat little device features a large, shockproof glass panel with a trigger style fire button above it. It also features easy to use + and – buttons which are responsive and feel good to the touch. While the screen is nice and easy to read in most circumstances, if you’re using this vape in bright sunlight you’re going to struggle to see it.

It has a tough and rugged silicone body with a leather and aluminium section at the rear of the mod which lends some stylish appeal to its durability. The dense silicone section helps to protect the mod from knocks and drops, making it an especially user-friendly gadget for those who are a little careless.

Operation

It couldn’t be easier to fire up the Geekvape Aegis. Simply click the fire button 5 times to turn it on and another 5 to turn it off. There are several different power modes too, which can be accessed by clicking the fire button 3 times. The + and – buttons adjust the wattage in increments of 0.1W, making it easy to get the perfect temperature to suit your preferences, and if you want to be discreet about your vaping in public, you can always adjust the display brightness too without affecting the ability to fire the device up.

Users can choose between four different modes – the Wattage Mode with a 100W maximum output, a Temperature Control mode for sub-ohm vaping, variable power curve mode and bypass mode which gives users the option of using the device as a mech mod but with added safety functions for the user’s peace of mind.

Performance

One of the best features of this device is its short ramp up time. In fact, it heats to temperature virtually instantly. When the device is fully charged, it can put out 100 W, although if the battery is drained, output drops to about 50%.

Although the supplied 26650 battery is pretty good, it won’t supply a full day’s worth of vaping on just one charge if you want to vape at 100 W. Also, since you can’t charge the battery inside the device you’ll also need a battery charger that can accommodate bigger batteries.

Negatives

While the screen cover is well protected against shattering, it still gets scratched pretty easily, so if appearance is everything you might not be too impressed. The screen brightness might also be a problem, especially in direct sunlight.

Conclusion

Overall, for the price, the Geekvape Aegis is a solid and reliable device. It has a good build quality and can take a fair beating before it dies a death. It has a user-friendly interface, and while it’s a little heavy in the hand it does have plenty of style paired with sufficient ruggedness to satisfy anyone.

While its battery life could be better and its screen could be a little easier to read in bright daylight, you’re getting good value for money when you invest in this neat vape.
